Missing My Loved Ones Far Away in the Moonlight

海上生明月，

天涯共此時(shí)。

The moon rises on the sea,

At this time we are far apart.

情人怨遙夜，

竟夕起相思。

How I hate the night being too long,

Missing you so much the whole night.

滅燭憐光滿，

披衣覺露滋。

Snuffing out the candle I enjoy the moonlight,

Putting on my coat I feel the cool dew outside.

不堪盈手贈(zèng)，

還寢夢(mèng)佳期。

Unable to gather and send the moonlight to you as a gift,

I’d better go back to sleep wishing to see you in the dream.

【譯文】

海上一輪明月升起，

此時(shí)親人遠(yuǎn)在天涯。

惟恨夜晚太過漫長，

想念親人一夜無眠。

熄滅蠟燭憐愛滿屋月光，

披衣徘徊月下露水清涼。

不能滿捧月華拱手相贈(zèng)，

回寢室期待相見在夢(mèng)鄉(xiāng)。

【注釋】

1)懷遠(yuǎn)：懷念遠(yuǎn)方的親人。

2)情人：多情的人，指作者自己或親人。

3)遙夜：長夜。怨遙夜：因想念親人而失眠，以至抱怨夜太長。

4)竟夕：一整夜。

5)憐光滿：愛惜滿屋的月光。憐：愛。

6)滋：（zī）濕潤。

7)不堪：不能。

8)盈手：雙手捧滿。盈：滿，指充盈的狀態(tài)。

9)還寢：回去睡覺。

10)夢(mèng)佳期：在夢(mèng)中相見。
